Castle Durrow Hotel

One of Ireland’s most luxurious Country House Hotels located on the N8 old Dublin – Cork Road (one hour from Dublin), in the midlands of Ireland, adjoining the quaint village of Durrow, Co Laois.

Built by Capt. William Flower (later to become Viscount Ashbrook) in 1716 as his family home in the Midlands of Ireland, its pre Palladian design and formal gardens were the height of fashion in their day and the grey / blue cut stone contrasts with the breathtaking views of the landscape.

Our beautiful and luxurious Master rooms are located on the first floor of the castle. Beautiful fabrics on their large sash windows, family antiques and personally picked accessories, handcrafted beds, hung with tapestry like materials emphasise the classical beauty of these rooms. Floral themes bring the garden into the castle. All rooms have fabulous views over the surrounding countryside and the gardens. Each of these rooms is individually named after the Castle’s inhabitants. The more masculine decorated rooms have been given the names of the previous owners of the castle, and the feminine rooms are named after the daughters of the Stokes family.
